Our 2017 Vacation Bible School Program Was GREAT!

In this year’s Theme, Loving Lutherans we will learn all about what it means to be part of the Lutheran church, and how we work together with others to share God’s love in this world! Travel back in time with us to Germany in 1517 to learn about the reformation and how it helped shape our church today! Daily activities include crafts, songs, Bible stories, videos, service projects, games, cooking, snacks and more!

This year we had 50 kids and over 20 youth and adult volunteers participate in our VBS! We made 130 Personal Care Kits to to help provide basic needs to people who have lost everything due to violence and natural disasters, and we spent an amazing week learning that God Loves us, because God Loves us! We are saved by Grace, don’t have to be perfect for God to love us, do good things to say Thank you to God, know God is always with us, and that there are people of faith all around the world! Thank You to everyone who helped make this special week possible! Please Scroll down to see pictures from the week in our newest VBS Gallery!

VBS FAQs

Who can come – Potty trained children age 3 – 4th grade are able to come and participate in VBS!

Does it cost money- NO, VBS at St. Andrew’s is always free.  However, we do happily accept donations of snacks and supplies to make the week happen.  Please be on the look out for more information about how to help out.  We also take an offering throughout VBS that lifts up and supports the mission and ministry of the ELCA.  More information about this years cause will be coming soon.

How do I register- Registration slips will be at the church and online (registration link above and below).  You can also register the first day of VBS, but we ask that you do your best to register ahead of time as this helps us to be better prepared for the week.  You can also register by clicking HERE and filling out the online form!

What about my older kids? Middle school youth 5th grade – 8th grade are invited to join us for the week as Jr. Guides!  Jr. Guides either help at a station such as crafts or games, or follow a small group and help the leader and children of that group throughout the week.  High School youth are invited to be Group leaders and station leaders. These youth work along side adult volunteers to help guide small groups and lead stations.  Both Middle School and High School Youth are a valuable part of VBS!

How can I help We have sign ups for volunteers to help decorate, run stations, set up snacks, clean up, and lead small groups.  Sign up sheets are posted in the Fellowship Hall at St. Andrew’s.  We also often have a need for special props and decorations.  If you have a love of art, decorating, helping prepare crafts, or just want to know how you can be involved, please contact Pastor Megan at the church office.
