ECO FAITH ADVOCATES
One of our most recent teams to form is the Eco Faith Advocates.  The purpose of this team is to both raise awareness of the importance of caring for the earth, as well as helping congregational ministries implement practices with the care of creation in mind If you have suggestions, questions or want to join the team (short term is an option) please contact Wanda Clark or Vicky Lorenz.  Messages can be sent through the church office.

MISSION STATEMENT
God entrusts us with His beautiful creation by calling us to build a life that honors and sustains our world. Our purpose focuses on education to create awareness for sustainability in our personal and congregational life. By gathering and sharing of information we celebrate what we are doing, and encourage and challenge others to respond through action.

From the Green Blades Newsletter from the NE MN Synod’s EcoFaith Team:  This article was written by Jan Bilden, member of St. Andrew’s Eco Faith Advocates team.

The altar in the sanctuary at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids is in front of a two story window, with a cross embedded, and tall pines, maples, and forest floor as a background.  We are always reminded of God’s wonderful creation, be it when summer winds blow through the trees or in winter when the snows are heavy.  When floating the idea of a creation care, we knew there would be interest.
